Adnaan is a former rugby player and ultra-distance marathon runner who participates in and covers a wide range of sports events specializing in rugby and Olympic Sports.

Adnaan has run 21 Two Oceans (56km) Marathons and 20 Comrades (90km) Marathons.

He has covered four Olympic Games Beijing 2008, Rio de Janeiro 2016, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 as well as four Rugby World Cups in New Zealand 2011, England 2015, Japan 2019, and France 2023.

In addition to his work as a journalist, Adnaan is also a sports industry executive. He has served as an elite athlete manager, board member and chairperson of Western Province Athletics.

Adnaan is the founder of theathlete.co.za and is currently freelancing as a broadcast journalist and sports analyst for Newzroom Afrika and produces video content for Gallo Images.
