As the Betway Premiership heads towards its conclusion in May 2026, Kaizer Chiefs’ hopes of rising to the top will have to wait for yet another season.
With Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns effectively the only teams still in contention, the AmaKhosi still have the Confederations Cup to play for.
For TS Galaxy, staying clear of the relegation zone might be the only positive of the campaign as they look set to finish in the bottom half of the table.
Reliable online betting sites note that the Rockets have been a bogey team for Kaizer Chiefs and little has separated them in past clashes in the SA top flight.

Kaizer Chiefs Current Form – LLLWW
After a season that held promise in the earlier fixtures, Kaizer Chiefs slumped in form with three out of four total losses coming in February and March 2026.
The AmaKhosi headed into the international break with momentum on their side, recording a 2-0 win over Magesi FC and a 1-0 victory over Durban City.
Unfortunately, the three matches that preceded that winning streak have kept them rooted in fourth place in the current South African Premiership table.
Chiefs were defeated 1-0 by Richards Bay FC at the beginning of March and were humbled 3-0 by their eternal rivals, Orlando Pirates, in the Soweto Derby.
Capping off their current run of form was a 1-2 loss against Stellenbosch FC, as the AmaKhosi rue what could have been this season with a few more wins.
Kaizer Chiefs are trailing third-placed AmaZulu FC by a single point, with two games in hand, but have not done enough to challenge Pirates or Sundowns.
Key Players to Watch
- Aden McCarthy: Kaizer Chiefs have relied on low-scoring games with narrow results to stay near the top of the table this season. Part of this success has been due to strong work by defenders like McCarthy, who even has a goal to his name from the win over Golden Arrows.
- Wandile Duba: The midfielder has operated well in the centre of the pitch and has been a constant presence in his 12 appearances. Having shaped in form as the campaign progressed, Duba has also made some attacking contributions through one goal and one assist, and a decent number of touches.
- Zitha Kwinika: With 13 starts in 14 appearances so far this season, the defender has relied on accurate passes and strong work in one-on-one situations. As Kaizer Chiefs try to capitalise on their games in hand to unseat Amazulu, Kwinika will surely be called on to help his team finetune their plans.
Kaizer Chiefs News
The AmaKhosi defending department has been gutted by injuries, with Zitha Kwinika out for the rest of the season and Nkanyiso Shinga reportedly out for the long-term. Given Msimango, who played against Durban City while still in recovery, is likely to be rested. In more positive news, defender Rushwin Dortley and goalkeeper Etiosa Ighodaro are working to rejoin the team.
TS Galaxy Current Form – LLLDL
TS Galaxy have come crashing back to earth after a fifth-place finish last season, currently sitting only seven points above the relegation-threatened Orbit College FC.
The Rockets headed into the March break on the heels of a 0-6 thrashing by title contenders Orlando Pirates at the Mbombela Stadium, where they were overwhelmed.
Looking back on their campaign, TS Galaxy drew 1-1 against Stellenbosch FC and also suffered a 1-2 defeat against Orbit College, which would be considered a big upset.
In February, the Rockets also recorded successive losses, having been defeated 1-0 by Siwelele FC and being handed a 2-0 loss by the impressive Durban City.
TS Galaxy are unlikely to break into the top 10 places, with Siwelele having a game in hand and fellow strugglers Richards Bay two points ahead with few games to play.
While the Mpumalanga side are not yet in danger of dropping below Orbit and Magesi in the bottom two places, their campaign has many questions and few answers.
Key Players to Watch
- Seluleko Mahlambi: The midfielder has been among the primary attacking forces for the struggling TS Galaxy this season, contributing five goals and three assists in 21 appearances. He has also created a few big chances, in addition to decent defensive efforts in a campaign the Rockets would want to forget.
- Ira Eliezer Tapé: Having been called on for every game this season, making 22 appearances between the sticks, the Ivorian goalkeeper has recorded five clean sheets. While TS Galaxy linger near the bottom of the table, his goals-per-game stat is a little over one shot conceded per game played.
- Sphesihle Maduna: Another player who has featured heavily this season, the midfielder has made 19 starts to underscore his importance for a team under intense pressure. Maduna has contributed one goal and provided three assists, and his vision as a playmaker has resulted in seven opportunities created.
TS Galaxy News
There is some good news for the Rockets, with Bosnia and Herzegovina defender Igor Makitan set to return this month after an ankle injury layoff. Coach Adnan Beganovic has also used the international break to ensure players are fit for the rest of the Betway Prem campaign.

Suggested Bets
Soccer betting sites in South Africa have looked at possible outcomes of this top flight clash.
Under 2.5 Goals: Kaizer Chiefs are in a strong position on the table, but head-to-head results have seen consistently low scores and another narrow result is on the cards here.
Value Bets
Reliable bookmakers for betting and soccer betting sites are also offering high-value stakes for this match.
Kaizer Chiefs Draw No Bet: Based on current form, the AmaKhosi should get the job one here, although a significant number of drawn games in recent clashes could throw a spanner in the works.
Kaizer Chiefs vs TS Galaxy Prediction: Chiefs to Win
Kaizer Chiefs would look back on the 2025/2026 campaign with regret, having squandered chances to compete with Pirates and Sundowns at the top.
TS Galaxy have effectively nothing to play for apart from personal pride, although travelling to meet the AmaKhosi and expecting a win is not likely.
Kaizer Chiefs vs TS Galaxy betting odds support this, with the home team anticipated to overcome the Rockets and take the lead on AmaZulu.
