Mamelodi Sundowns will return home to Tshwane to host TS Galaxy who surprisingly ended Masandawana’s 10-match winning streak in the league when these teams squared off at the Mbombela Stadium just two weeks ago. However, on home soil, the reigning champions have been superb this season, winning all eight Betway Premiership matches on offer.
Following their 4-1 thrashing over title-chasing Orlando Pirates, Sundowns went on to book their place in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals by beating Mpheni Home Defenders 2-0, courtesy of first-half goals by Tashreeq Matthews and Bathusi Aubaas.
During home matches, the defending champions have been imperious, averaging three goals per game while only conceding three times. After taking over the hotseat at Chloorkop, Portuguese coach Miguel Cardoso suffered his first defeat in 10 matches across all competitions, losing 1-0 to TS Galaxy, adding extra spice to this encounter.
