Ulinzi Stars coach Dunstan Nyaudo slams Muchiri after missed penalty

Ulinzi Stars coach Dunstan Nyaudo has slammed captain Boniface Muchiri for lack of leadership as his side dropped two crucial points against Tusker FC in an FKF Premier League match played at the Police Sacco Stadium on Wednesday.

Ulinzi Stars hoping to earn their first win of the season had a bright start to the match but fell back through a Charles Momanyi’s goal in the 43rd minute of the game just two minutes after a penalty miss by the soldiers.

MUCHIRI MUST SHOW LEADERSHIP QUALITIES

A visibly irritated Nyaudo admitted that he was disappointed with his captain Boniface Muchiri who for the second time failed to take the spot kick, handing it to another player.

Last season during the FKF Cup playoffs, the soldiers won a penalty against AFC Leopards and Muchiri handed the responsibility to Mark Bikokwa who has his effort saved by Levis Opiyo.

During the match against Tusker, Muchiri handed the responsibility to Hillary Simiyu who had his effort shave the crossbar to the disappointment of the entire technical bench and away team fans.

Nyaudo told SportsBoom.co.za,” I think the players can tell you I was so mad at that incident because as a captain you need to take care of the responsibilities in the team. The crucial penalties and free kicks must not be debatable, that is why you are captain.
