Nigerian international winger Chidera Ejuke could be set for a summer exit from Sevilla after a frustrating spell in Spain, SportsBoom understands.

Limited Game Time at Sevilla

The 28-year-old joined the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in July 2024 but has been unable to fully establish himself, with injuries and inconsistent form limiting his impact in Andalusia.

Ejuke has made 26 La Liga appearances this season, though only six have come as starts. His lack of influence was underlined in Sevilla’s recent defeat to Real Madrid, where he was restricted to just 38 minutes on the pitch.

So far this campaign, the Super Eagles forward has managed just one goal and one assist, following on from a similarly difficult debut season in which he scored twice and registered one assist across 25 appearances.

While the former CSKA Moscow and Hertha Berlin winger has shown occasional glimpses of his trademark dribbling ability, recurring fitness issues have prevented him from building any sustained momentum in Spain.

Sources close to the situation have now indicated to SportsBoom that a summer departure is “highly likely”, with the player’s future set to be reviewed in the coming months.

Ejuke is understood to have just one year remaining on his current contract, and Sevilla are yet to open talks over an extension. The club are reportedly open to sanctioning a sale if a suitable offer arrives, particularly as they look to reshape their squad amid ongoing financial pressure and a difficult 2025-26 campaign in which they have been battling in the lower half of La Liga.

With Sevilla needing to balance the books after failing to secure European football, player sales are expected to form part of their summer strategy.

Premier League Clubs Monitoring Situation

Several clubs are already monitoring the situation, with Fulham and Everton among the Premier League sides credited with interest.

Sunderland have also been linked, while a move to Saudi Arabia has been suggested as a potential option, although no formal negotiations have taken place.

A switch to England could appeal to Ejuke, who would have the opportunity to join up with several of his international teammates, while his previous spells in Norway, the Netherlands, Russia, Germany and Belgium suggest he would have no issue adapting to another new challenge abroad.

Sevilla’s willingness to sell, Ejuke’s limited role, and just a year left on his deal make a summer exit more likely than not. The key factor now is whether Premier League interest turns into a concrete bid rather than just monitoring.
