Sharks vs Munster Preview: Odds, Tips and Prediction

Venue: Kings Park Kickoff Time: 18:30 (CAT Time) The Sharks have enjoyed playing their rugby at the Tank, losing just once in front of their home support throughout the season. The last time they had a tussle with Munster it was the South African side which came out on top. Nevertheless, the visitors will know that a tough encounter awaits, but that won’t deter them – if anything it might urge on a desirable confidence to compete, making this an appealing fixture for rugby betting.

Sharks Current Form – WWWWL

The Durban-based side have been impressive to watch throughout this season, but more particularly at home. They come into this game having won four of their last five games and will be hoping to see themselves through the knockout phases of the tournament.

Their attacking ability is often well-documented, but in this season particularly, their defensive ability and record have allowed them to attack with freedom and turn positive performances into points.

Key Players to Watch

  • Aphelele Fassi: His agility and playing style aside, Fassi is arguably on the best players in the world under the high ball. He is a constant counter-attacking threat, and he will no doubt be wanting to ensure that his side register a positive performance here once again.
  • Siya Masuku: Masuku is a primary playmaker and while he has struggled to get into the starting XV this season, his tactical game management and kicking ability are crucial for the success of the hosts.
  • Phepsi Buthelezi: His energy and ability to bring together aggressive game play with energy throughout the 80 minutes make him a vital cog in this Sharks team. He continues to show his ability at the breakdown, securing possession over and again for his side and Saturday isn’t likely to be any different.

Munster Current Form – WWLLL

In truth, Munster’s form has been mixed throughout the season. They have managed to secure notable victories at times but also come away from games they have dominated with nothing to show for it.
They will be up for this clash for sure, but it is whether or not they can earn a positive result.

Key Players to Watch

  • Tadhg Beirne: His versatility and contribution to this forward pack is without doubt incredible to note, and Munster will be hoping the Irish ace is able to produce another one of this stellar performances here.
  • Peter O’Mahony: He is a player who leads by example and his aggressive tenacity on the field will always be a welcomed aspect to the Munster faithful. He will know the physical battle on Saturday will be tough to contend with, but he is the sort of player to welcome such a challenge.
  • Tom Farrell: His attacking numbers speak for themselves, and he will once again be an attacking ace for Munster this weekend. Given his ability to find the whitewash and earn points for his side, expect a backline full of confidence to run out for Munster this weekend.
