SportsBoom has exclusively learned that current Betway Premiership log-leaders Kaizer Chiefs have shown interest in former Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch defender, Olisa Ndah, to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes.

Chiefs Squad

Through the opening weeks of the 2026/27 season, Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando Da Cruz has reiterated how his team is not yet at the level to compete for silverware in a league with teams of the calibre of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Moreover, the Frenchman has been blunt in his assessment of his squad, saying that he is looking to add more names to his roster to further strengthen the squad in what is set to be a demanding season for the Amakhosi, given that they have also qualified to compete in the upcoming CAF Confederations Cup.

SportsBoom has learned that one of the players that Kaizer Chiefs are interested in is Ndah, the Nigerian international who is currently a free agent after parting ways with Orlando Pirates a year ago and then Stellenbosch after the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.

Da Cruz has already brought on Ndayiragile Mtasingwa from Tanzania, and local talents in Langelihle Phili, Thabiso Moloisane and Renaldo Meyer.

The addition of Ndah, should the conversations between the two camps prove fruitful, will certainly bolster their squad for the season.

Ndah’s History

Ndah has made a name for himself since arriving in South Africa in 2021, signing for Orlando Pirates and going on to record 80 appearances for the Sea Robbers.

The Nigerian international has collected a number of major domestic honours in his time with Pirates, as he proved to be an integral part of what is a legendary Pirates outfit that won back-to-back MTN 8 titles.

After suffering an unfortunate, serious tibia injury in September 2024, his progress was disrupted, leading him to struggle to make his way back to being a regular starter in what is a star-studded Pirates squad with the likes of Nkosinathi Sibisi, Thapelo Xoki and the young Mbekezeli Mbokazi as centre-backs.

Eventually, Ndah left Orlando Pirates by mutual agreement in January of this year in search of regular football.

The 28-year-old then moved to the winelands to join Stellenbosch FC, where he earned seven league appearances before departing at the end of the 2025/26 season.
